Bev,
I keep track of how many of my hand pollinated crosses set seed.
It varies a lot from year to year even with the same hosta.
For instance, last year my one WILLIAM LACHMAN set no seed after hand
pollinating 23 flowers.
This year the same plant set seed on 8 out of ten flowers pollinated.
