Until I publish the name or register the plant, there is nothing to stop you. The name is not what I'm trying to protect. The plant is what's important.
Don't get me started on names and registration.

But Chick, What if I want to name my "special" plant "Cathy's Clown"? If it's not registered or patented what stops anyone from naming their plant the same name. I wonder what lab did your original????????
