I noticed a couple of people referred to Lu as "Mr." or "he."  At a recent regional scientific meeting Lu joked with me about the fact that many on the robin still referred to her in one way or another as a man.  Since no one else has responded to this -- I will assure you all that Lu is definitely a woman, and a very intelligent one too! (As my grandfather used to say "Smarter than 99 percent of the men I know!")
