Ten years ago, when we bought our home, there was an old clunker of a washer in
the basement. It (a top loader) has never stopped working and I don't even know
what the heck kind of machine it is. The government was not involved, however,
and its representatives have yet to question me about this machine. To my
delight, the money I have saved by not having to buy a washer (to date) has gone
into the Hosta Kitty.
