The fragrance from our catalpa is a welcome spring time tradition - it wafts downhill in the evening. Flowers are very nice for a shade tree.
The tree has been subjected to several insect attacks, the latest which "killed" the tree. I cut the stump back to 4 ft for a bird bath stand - this year it began to regrow.Tough bugger.
