I have in the past grown a lot of seed from Christmas Tree.  I have never 
had a seedling that was anything but shades of green.  I have heard of a 
couple of times when some one has , however, had a varigated seedling.  I 
suspect this has come from a "parent plant" that was "throwing" a 
partially "unstable" leaf or section.
