Another pair of tools that work well for those of us who don't bend well
are a long-handled bulb planter and a section of vinyl rain gutter.

Start your seedlings and transplant to standard styrofoam coffee cups
with drainage holes poked in the bottom. When you're ready to transplant
outside, use the bulb planter to cut a hole the size of the cup, remove
the plant from the cup, and slide it down the rain gutter section into
the hole. A little stepping around the area with a toe or a crutch tip
and some water complete the planting task.

If you don't mind using two tools to plant seeds, a sharp stick makes
a good dibble, and a piece of pvc pipe or a plastic tube snaffled from
the golfer's club separators (about $0.50 at Walmart) work quite well.

And if you can steal the whole golf bag on pullcart assembly from
the family golfer, they work really well for hauling longhandled
tools from place to place.
