I do anywhere from 800 to 1200 plants in my small greenhouse each year,
using styrofoam cups to transplant mostly tomatoes and peppers but other
veggies and flowers, too.  They work great and I can pick them up in case
lots at Price-Costco..at less expense then the usual plastic plant
containers.
I use an electric drill to make drainage holes in the bottom of the cups.
You can do 6 or more at a time by stacking and drilling.   The holes are
not always neat and even, but speed  is more important.   Maybe this will
help you if you do a lot of transplanting.
