Over-wintering container plants
I live in zone 5. This year I grew some zone 6 plants in containers
with the thought of over-wintering them in their containers. What
I'd like to do is leave them outdoors until they die back, then
prune them and bring them into my garage to spent the coldest
months. (I really don't have enough lighted space indoors to
keep them growing over the winter.)
It this a feasible scheme? Can anyone pass along any advice or instructions?
For example, should I water the pots periodically while the plants are dormant?
Should the pots go back out early next spring (say, by March) or should I
wait until spring really arrives?
Thanks for any thoughts and experiences!
Lola
