Hi guys - here in northern Alberta, we don't get
the huge, monster sluga that you must get, but we get these creepy little
critters that look like BOOGERS! I swear - El Nino seemed to bring out the
worst infestation of them this summer and I couldn't bring myself to eat the
lettuce - washing it in the sink for dinner, I found it looked like someone had
blown their nose all over the leaves. Blech!
I've decide to save all of
my yogourt containers this winter and I'm going to try cutting the bottom out of
each container and planint my tomatoes, lettuce, etc. inside these plastic
rings. Then I'm going to circle the plants with hair clippings from the
salon nearby. My mom in law says that slugs can't stand hair. All I
know is, I can't stand BOOGERS or slugs!!

them so they leave your plants alone. I think they pass out, but the beer
doesn't kill them. I have never actually seen a hungover slug, but I can't
imagine he'd have much energy to munch on your tulips with all that liquor
in them.
