Great advise, Julia. The only thing I would additionally suggest is finding
one of the sites on Orchids, and look at the pictures of sick or diseased
plants. They would be able to visually match the problem they are
experiencing.
Just a suggestion, of course.

P.S. Julia, did you get a chance to check out the URL I sent you? There are
pictures of workers harvesting pineapples. It used to be fun to stop along
the road, and the pineapple pickers would slice a pineapple open, and you
could taste the freshness. But, we always had a salt shaker in the car to
bring out the real sweetness of the fruit, too.
