Peace Lilies are considered easy because they survive indoor conditions so
well: low light, low humidity, neglect. They will not survive outdoors in
Iowa if in fact they are being grown outdoors, something I was not quite
able to determine from Molly's post. Anyway, Peace Lillies
(Spathyphillium) are nearly impossible to overwater so keep yours moist.
Many people grow them submerged in aquariums. They won't bloom
underwater but they will live. They enjoy some light but don't need direct
sun. They are very common and should be reasonable in price so you can try
again if despite you best efforts...
