[INDOOR-GARDENING:262] RE: introduction

thankyou christa for your email. it realy doesn't matter about my windows i can put flowers anywhere outside as long as i do not put holes in the ground (which means pots). right now what i want is vibrant color with alot of green cover the pots. bushyness but not an untame look and a lot of fragrance to fill the apt.. i have a burpee catalog so if you give me names of some plants that fit that discription give them to me and i will order them from the cataloge or get them from one of the local nurserys.
thankyou again christa, i look forward to my getting to know you and the others and i value any guidance you can give me.

Hi!

I am also pretty new to the gardening list, but the members seem friendly enough : )

Which direction do your windows face?  If they get plenty of sun then there's quite a bit you can plant.  You can try planting bulbs (when it's their season in your area) - they don't need direct sunlight.  This year I'm going to attempt to grow mine over pebbles -- anyone had any success with this yet?

I also have a Bleeding Heart plant (forget the scientific name) which grows well inside -- mine sees almost no sun -- and gives the most pleasant flowers when the time comes.  Otherwise there's always begonias, african violets and lilies which handle indoor living pretty well.  BUT.. I am open to correction.  I am no horticultural genius - I just try to make my plants as happy as possible.

Welcome to the list -- hope your apartment is a "blooming" success.

Christa

i have gotten the urge to plant flowers all over. but only have a 2 bedroom apt. that i rent. any suggestions?
