Well,
I can tell you that the roots were not damaged- the whole plant (soil
and all) slid right out of the pot like beautifully, though it was
root-bound. The soil was definitely different, though (I guess I
thought I could get away with that- we had a spring snow shower that
day, and I did not want to go to the store for the proper soil).
Perhaps the new, surrounding soil was just too different for the Dill's
tastes. I will try another this week with the correct soil and a
gentler hand- I'll let you know how it goes. :)
