Homalomena is listed in The World Book of House Plants by Elvin
McDonald. Here's the information it gives. It is an araceae (arum or
calla family).  The book recommends semi-sunny to semi-shady location;
30% or more humidity, soil: equal parts loam, sandd, and peat moss; keep
evenly moist. Propagate by stem cuttings. This is an old book (1963)
but I can often find plants listed in it that I can't find anywhere
else.
