It has been slow lately, which is sort of strange for this time of year.

It's too bad you've been having computer troubles. I think I'm just about
the only person out of my family that isn't having them!

As far as plant related stuff, things are going great at my place. I had
my husband put up an 18" grow light to supplement the natural light
in our living room, and my African violets are blooming like crazy. And
last night my husband made the yearly foolish mistake of asking me what
I want for Christmas. :-) After a couple unreasonable requests, I told him
what I'd really like is more room to grow violets. His bedroom dresser is
about 5' long and just has a bunch of junk on it, so he said he'd clean it
off and put grow lights above it. What a nice guy. I told him I really wanted
some lighted plant stands but we know we don't have any room since we
live in an apartment without room for even a single extra stick of furniture.

In other plant-related news, on December 7th the Indoor Gardening club
here is having a get-together at a member's house, who happens to have
a 40' greenhouse at her place that we get to tour. I'm not a member of
that club (yet!) but am a member of the local violet society and we were
invited. For anyone who hasn't joined a plant club, I've only gone to 2
meetings but have had such a wonderful time talking plants with people
who care about (and know!) what I'm talking about, and I'd highly
recommend going to at least one meeting to try it out. I joined up at the
first meeting I went to. I have to say plant people are some of the kindest,
most generous people I've ever met.
