I *never* know how to get mine to go into dormacy. It usually goes into
dormacy in February so this year I'm leaving it outside until it gets too
cold hopefully the shortened days and cooler temps will make it get the
point. Cutting down on water is a very good idea, don't completely stop but
let the soil get dry but not bone dry. I never take it out of the soil, it
just sounds too complicated and I know I'd probably screwup!
I tried branching mine with pinching the tip of the growing stem and
now the plant kinda has this callused top where 2 shoots grew. Unfortunately
it didn't branch, one of the shoots grew straight up and the other is a nub
but in the past few weeks I've noticed that it (the nub) has been growing
leaves. I read that a dose of miracid in spring helps the plant start
growing. Maybe you could try that? I haven't because my plant usually only
goes dormant for a month, maybe that's why it doesn't bloom..
