Not too badly. My indoor plants have done fairly well. A mini dendrobium
orchid bloomed beautifully, my African violets did alright but I think need
stronger lighting on their stand. A yellow African violet I started as a
leaf a year ago has been blooming like crazy. I've had to do a lot of
repotting and rearranging due to our naughty cat. One night a mosquito hawk
(a nasty long-legged bug) flew into the house and into my African violets,
and the cat went crazy and jumped right into the middle of them on the light
stand. Then I went crazy. :-)
One thing I'm not happy about is my beautiful lipstick plant (aeschynanthus)
collapsing. I think I'm going to just throw it away, I have a bad feeling
it has something wrong with it and I don't want whatever it is to spread to
my other plants. This plant always bloomed well for me and always received
a lot of complements. I bought it as a small bargain plant 4 years ago for
$1.99 and I hate to see it die.
Slightly related to indoor gardening... my container plants did much better
this summer than last summer, probably because I actually remembered to
water them this time! A hosta in a wooden tub came back more beautiful than
ever, though it didn't bloom like I'd hoped it would. The cat got stuck
outside for a day and decided to use my planter of coleus as a litter box,
so those all died. My 'Heidi' miniature rose was quite sickly for a while
(spider mites), but bounced back nicely and is still blooming with pretty
little pink flowers.
