Hi!

Where most of my roses are planted it is surrounded by large boulders and
ledge. I have several areas that the soil is only a few inches deep. Last
year I started planting low growing perennials around these areas that will
eventually growing around the bottom of the roses. One favorite is creeping
veronica. I also planted a verylow growing baby's breath that has pink
flowers. Another is snow in summer.

Another thing I did this summer to deter Japenese Beetles was to plant white
geraniums in pots and place around the rose garden area. These are supposed
to be poisonous to them. Yesterday I finally saw a dead one on one of the
geraniums.
