Daily, if necessary, unless you add baking soda, then weekly with regular
watering. The soap and oil are harmless, but the Sodium in the baking soda
is toxic if not flushed through the soil

Yes! as will any fungicide or pesticide that is not labeled as "systemic."

Different species have different colors. There are hundreds of species of
aphids, but they all feed in the same manner, and are susceptible to the
same controls. Since they are soft-bodied insects, and don't fly readily,
they are among the easiest pests to eliminate. Actually, a low dose
application of Malathion - one of the safest insecticides available - works
best.
