Hi, Philip...
You're right - my tree was a Yellow Transparent...thanks!
When I contacted the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, about the grafting
process, they said the process must be done rapidly: at a certain time of the
year, remove some branch tips (I'm paraphrasing as I don't remember all of
the myriad steps) and
rush home to my already prepared scion and attach them. Over 80% fail, I was
told. Decided to try and find a Y.T. and have located some (can relay info if
anyone's interested) at a fruit tree nursery via catalog ordering.
What scion are you going to use? (Sorry to be off-topic here)
Does anyone have a shrub rose 'Blanc Double de Courbet' that's reached 7', or
beyond, yet? What have you used to attractively underplant it?
Joanie
