My favorite Rose Books

_"The Organic Rose Garden"_ by Liz Druitt's

I LOVE this book, if I could have only one book, this would be it. She's
delightful to read and packs lots of good stuff in this book. She tells
wonderful stories of history, suggests companion plantings, excellent
maintainance information including "one of a kind" information on common
organic fertilizers, what they do and how they should be used. Good
pruning, disease and pest control (all organic) information. Descriptions
on the different classes of old roses. And a "glossary" of roses in bloom
with descriptions that thrive in organic gardens. I Highly recommend her
book.

_"Garden with Old Roses"_ by John Scarman.

This book seems to go the extra mile for me, not a basics book, but not
overwhelming for a newbies either. I find myself garden inspired with this
book with his lovely design ideas and awesome full shrub pictures. His
chapter titles are: Designing with old roses, Planting with old roses,
Directory of old roses (with yummy history) and Caring for old roses. Best
pruning pictures I've found yet, with more indept pruning directions
including pruning your shrub roses three times a year. (Note.. 3x pruning
is not nessesary, but I love to prune and I do see a nice difference.)

_"Old Roses and English Roses"_ by David Austin

Another of my favorites that is more of a feast for the eyes, pictures of
blooms and descriptions of various wonderful roses. Excellent information
good and bad on each rose. Some care information, but not very detailed.
