<What kind of zone 6 in Oregon? Dry side or wet side?
I'm on the wet side of Oregon. Just west of Portland.
Husband says its more like clay loam and wants to
add some lime and mushroom compost with aged
horse manure.
<And, any time you want to give a manure boost, be sure to cover it (like
<you're using it in the holes) with at LEAST an inch of soil, three is
<better. Don't want the roots finding it right away. Cathy>
With the big hole theory, absolutely.
Thanks,
Carleen
