Hi Carleen,
The tag on the rose says "Climbing First Prize" I just looked in a
rather old rose book and it classified it as a Hybrid Tea, It must be an
offshoot of that, because it grew mighty tall in one season!! On the
west side of my house, I attached a trellis 2, 8 footers, stacked on top
of each other and it is halfway up the second trellis. I purchased the
crimson Red Ville de Lyon, not planted yet and looking at the photo, I
have had a change of heart.. I believe
it may be too red for the pink!! My other thought was to plant ivy at
the base of the trellis and let it wander up. I know it can be invasive,
but it would be nice to have something evergreen for the long winter
months here. Any other suggestions?
