Re: [Rose-list] Re: Heirloom Roses once again

>Yippee, Elle.... you mean she planted them for you? Or did you
>just not know that the roses she mailed where old ones?
No..she bought them ante I planted them not knowing what they were
I do have the labels but just spaced it out (last year wasn't a very good
year for me..2 surgeries and stress from loosing my job that I had been
on for 31 years..I just didn't pay attention
Now I did go out and draw a plan of what was in this alleged perennial
bed (but with 11 roses in it perhaps it is a rose bed with perennials)
I also got 2 Guy de Mausipant<sp> and 2 Double Blanc de Coubert which
aren't in the old rose book so I haven't a clue if they are old or
not..In any case they did not bloom last year so I am in for surprises
this year.

So what is old if 100+ years is not old? Maybe I have to read the Old
Rose Advisor as well as look at the pretty pictures?

these kids are my replacement children...its like having 6 2 year olds
running around the house/ but no diapers, just many litter boxes

Well..it's gotta warm up some if anything is going to bloom..I have seen
a couple of roses in bloom on southwest facing lots, but mine are all
semi shaded this time of year.
Sounds like a fun trip!
