I cut down a huge cedar in my backyard this spring.
last weekend my father-in-law brought his chipper
over to work up all the little stuff.
Now i have this nice tidy mound of cedar chips.
I plan on using them around all of my roses -
except, the primary reason i cut it down was to
get rid of the cedar apple rust gauls that were on it.
since roses and apples are in the same family
i wondered whether the sliced and diced little pieces
of cedar rust would then infect my roses. (?)
are cedar chips in and of themselves appropriate to use
as a mulch for roses?
Phillip - pondering the spectacle of zillions of tiny cedar
rust galls coming back to life and attacking my gardens...
