Hi Joanie--
In my zone 9 garden in Northern Cal., it is extremely invasive, though not
too difficult to pull out. It is a shade lover here, so it might not work
too well with roses. I love it anyway and don't mind it spreading, but it
is not a thing you are ever rid of.
