I have ended up removing my daffodils from the front of my garden..put
there for a early spring display to brighten up the drive way, they
didn/t last but a day or 2 last year.
These were not naturalizing daffs (by the bushel) but some particular
large trumpets I chose special to bring inside MY house and enjoy in MY
yard.
call me petty but I think crass stealing of garden flowers is rude.
Last year I put a sign up by the perennial bed that said "Look, enjoy but
don't pick"
The sign was stolen and the iris, lilies and one of my cerinthe totally
denuded.
So..this year I am planting a border of naturalizing daffs, bleeding
heart, crocus and on sale tulips that I won't care about and moving my
good plants further inside my yard..not that it will stop a determined
plant thief/
OTOH, I am always willing to share a cutting, a bunch of flowers or a
sucker off the old lilac tree to a nice stranger who takes the time to
ask.
elle..off her soapbox and back in to the yard
