speaking of - House colors

This summer I painted most of my house (didn't quite finish) a
buttercream yellow with daffodil yellow and aubergine trim.
I have an old style house that looks like every childs drawing, peaked
roof, centered front door with a b it of a porch and equal large windows
on either side, brick fireplace in the center.
I liked the white but was bored with it after so many years.
The yellow wets off my mostly salmon and coral roses (several tropicana,
fragrant cloud, and an unknown white with picote coral edging.
Lots of undergrowth greenery - hardy fuchsia and a clematis growing thru
the roses, and 3 red Blaze climbers on the lattice next to the side deck.
I was fearful of too much contrast, but really wanted the aubergine and
yellow combination.
To my husbands amazement it looks great!
My perennial garden is planted with lots of white, yellow, blue, purple
and dusty miller for accent.
I'd forgotten I had moved a sedum, autumn joy to the steps till this
year when it woke up and grew like mad, even that looks good against the yellow.
Today is sorta rainy and cloudy and it looks like Oregon is showing her
true nature - pulling in the driveway, I say and admired how the house
glows in the dusk and how wonderful the roses still look this year.
I'm not ready for fall!!!
