Hello fellow Sansevieriaphiles,
Some Sansevierias, such as Sans.parva, are reliable
bloomers while others, such as Sans.pinguicula, very seldom bloom. In general it
appears that the paniculate flowered and capitate flowered species are more
difficult to bloom that the rest.
Not all of us are fortunate enough to live in
southern California, Florida or Hawaii and can grow the plants outdoors under
optimum conditions where the plants grow like weeds. Maybe that is why they
don't flower so easily for most of us?
It would be informative to find out from the group why some people are more successful in getting their plants to bloom and under which conditions. Do plants planted in the ground bloom more freely
than those in pots?
Do certain growing methods lend to plants flowering
more readily?
Any opinions out there?
