Purpose of list

Hello:

I started this list in September 1997.  Since it has been two years now,
it's time for a review of our purpose.  I'd like some feedback from others.

Please answer these questions:

1.  What topics do you want discussed?

2.  What should the tone of the list be?
        Formal--only about sansevierias
        Informal--include some personal information/jokes, etc.

3.  Do we need two separate lists?
        A.  This list would be for the totally scientific minded--no general
comments, etc.
        B.  The onelist.com group would allow jokes, general talk, etc.


I have actually suggested to my co-owner, Hermine, that we turn this list
over to Stephen and let him run it as he sees fit.  Before doing that, I
would copy and paste all the email addresses to the onelist.com list and
invite each of you to join.

I really hate to see us divided but I sense we have two different sets of
people on this list.  Some of us are interested in growing these plants and
finding proper names if possible.  Others are only interested in having
collection numbers, etc. and being extremely scientifically oriented in
their collecting.

I am going to try checking each of your email addresses since discovering
that maelstrom doesn't automatically delete old addresses when you change
isps.  You'll be receiving a private email from me.  Please respond with
your answers to these questions to that email.
