Welcome Tom, its about time I heard from you on this list. Did you get the
information I sent along to you from Alice Waidhofer, I just talked to her
and she
is willing to look up her documentation on San. Horwood? she received this
plant from him many years ago, after he brought it back from Africa. It will
be
interesting as to what she has to say about it. She is one of the oldtimers
that (Steven J. should meet and talk to)
we may one day lose, but we will not lose any of the information, thank
goodness,
that will be going to the Huntington archives. She has many of the original
plants, meaning plants that came directly from their source. She is giving
many of these plants away at this time, going to various friends that will
prize them, many because they came from her with meticulous records kept. I
wish I could get hold of her black book. If you call at a decent hour I'm
sure you would love to chat about her favorite plants to any of us. She is a
charming, alert lady. Really alive! Norma Lewis
