Welcome indeed!
It has been some time that we disconnected due to my moving and other
personal problems. I wish to welcome you Braden, but you forgot one very
important thing! That is to let the group know who you are.
Braden has taken over the work of spotlighting the Round Robins from the
ineffable Gladys Panys for the CSSA (Cactus & Succulent Journal of America)
Journal. She did it for many years for both Cactus and succulents and now
she shares this extensive work (which he readily downplays!) with Rita
Fleischmann, who is in charge of Cacti.
At the biennial meetings of CSSA she has a get-together, which give people
a chance to learn about these robins, as well as giving them a chance to
meet personally.
Her work with the journal cannot be understated.
It is in fact a good idea to have the meeting in April. I have been once in
April there and the nights are balmy (not freezing as in Jan-Feb, not
scalding hot as June-July-Aug) The organizers of the Convention really know
what they are doing. It is going to be a spectacular show.
Juan
