Hi fellow Sansevieria Lovers;
My name is Aneita Richardson. I just found out about your list thru Diana
Pederson and the Begonia List. I'm on the Begonia List and on Gesneriphiles.
I belong to the local African Violet Society and have just taken a leave of
absence from Gates Cactus Society. As much as one would like to, one can't do
it all...and tonight I'm planning on joining the local Orchid Society (yes, I
have a few Orchids too, on top of a few hundred African Violets, Gesneriads,
and Begonias, not to mention many other oddball growing things)
My friend, and fellow member of Gates, got me hooked on Sansevierias. I have
11 varieties at present...
Species: Sansevierias, trifasciata, powlii, suffruticosa, kirkii v. pulchra,
bailyii, parva, cylindrica, pinguicula, horwoodii, conspicua (?), subspicata
(or is it subspicta?) I have trifasciata 'Laurentii'. There is one plant
that the tag is faded on and has 'Moon' as part of the name. It has a shorter
leaf blad that trifasciata. The coloring is a creamy silver green with only
faint markings.
I live up in the San Bernardino Mountains above Redlands, California. It gets
pretty cold up here, so I grow my Sansevierias indoors at East windows and
where ever they seem to do well.
I'm looking forward to hearing from any and/or all of you.
Aneita, who never met a plant she didn't like....
