Food, Land and People

Lucy Bradley forwarded Rob Mullen's query about Food, Land and People.
The group I work with here in Arizona, the Arizona Foundation for
Agriculutral Literacy, is the Arizona coalition member for this National
curriculum. I feel it is an excellent curriculum and I would be willing to
let anyone who is interested look at the forty lessons.
The book can be purchased from the Foundation for $35. They would prefer
that the recipient attend a six hour training and pay $30. They also will
coordinate Facilitator training. Anyone trained as a facilitator can then
conduct their own training sessions for interested individuals.
Facilitator training lasts for two days.
If you are not an Arizona resident I recommend you contact the National
President, Mark Linder, at the FLP office in San Francisco. His number is
(415)561-4445. He can tell you which states are offering the program.
This curriculum was ten years in development with an extensive committee
coordinating the vision. It was field tested several times with many
teachers across the country. It has been available to states for one year
so it is in its infancy for distribution.
In Arizona, we currently have twelve trained Facilitators and have put
about 150 educators through the six hour training.
Thank you for your interest and I hope to hear from some of you.
