Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi all,
Thanks to all who made suggestions a couple of weeks ago concerning birds
eating my strawberries. I had them covered with the black bird netting, but
the birds were still making headway. One suggestion (I'm sorry, I can't
remember whose, but thanks!) was to try net with smaller holes. I went to
the fabric store and purchased several yards of black net (59 cents/yd) and
simply laid it over the bird netting that was already in place. The holes
are very small, and so far it seems to be doing the trick! A very easy and
very inexpensive solution. Just thought others might want to give it a try.

PS Just a word of caution...be alert as you do your spring cleaning in your
gardens...I found a small coiled up snake, about the size of a pencil and
about 10" long, in my garden today, almost touched him. I escorted him away
on the end of a shovel. He may have been harmless, haven't had a chance to
look him up yet, but we do have some "bad" guys around here. Really took me
by surprise. Has anyone else had this happen??
