Dear Nickie,
Thanks for the nice comment about the garden looking nice but
it is my first spring. Nothing has been planted yet!
The plastic barrels had soap and fat residue inside. I took
them to the carwash and really washed them out well. Next step is to go to the
plumbing store and get some plastic pipe and fittings to link the barrels
together near the bottom of the barrels in order to have them behave like one
large barrel (160+ gallons of rain water?) to the watering system. A tap will
allow access to the water this year (to begin with). I hope to install a
watering system of soaker hoses to water the veggies in the future.
