Coastal North Carolina Here!
Was late planting my cool crops but put them in anyway. The ocean tends to
keep us cooler than the mainland so i hope they will produce before the heat
arrives. Built a "Sunbox" for my cukes, tomato, melons and peppers and it is
working out great! They are all 6-9" tall and bushing out nicely. I can't
wait to get them into trenches. Will most likely use 2" PVC pipe for trellis
because of cost and ease of construction. I have to be careful not to
underbuild them in fear of Hurricanes this summer!
Thanks to all for the great input on this list. It has helped this first
year SqFt gardener out!
