I'm actually very sensitive to it myself, but also couldn't recognize it
(hence two horrible exposures to PO and PI). I think I solved the
recognition problem finally when I hired a friend of mine who is a
landscape architect. Not only did she help me design and implement my new
square foot garden, but she also walked the property with me and pointed
out all the places where PI was growing. Now, finding someone to remove
the stuff is a little harder, and I'm still working on that. Turns out it
looks quite different when it's growing along the ground than when it's
climbed a tree and vined into the bark. My big problem is the vine because
it flowers and produces PI berries which are highly attractive to birds who
then spread it all over the place. Many small seedlings of it were in
evidence, probably from just that. And I thought it wouldn't be in my
domesticated village yard! I mean the house has been here for 125 years,
right in the middle of the village, and my yard is still ringed around the
shady edges with plenty of it.
