I have learned so much in the year and a half, or so, that I've been on
this list... Not all of it directly related to SqFt Gardening, but valuable
to a beginning gardener, nonetheless.  I have no problem with deleting
messages that I'm not interested in, and if I have too many to read, I save
them for another day, after exercising my delete key.  Some of the
following are topics that I have gained knowledge and information about,
since joining this list, which might have been excluded if the SqFt. rules
were strictly enforced.

Composting
Seed Starting
Raised Beds
Soil Amendments
Growing Potatoes, Strawberries & Asparagus
Heirloom Seeds
Seed Saving
Organic methods of insect and other pest deterrents...
Crop Rotation & Companion Planting
Newspaper Pots
Various online sites for gardening information
Garden Journaling
Zones & Frost Dates
Herb Gardening
and so much more...  Please, don't restrict this list to the mechanics of
SqFt-ing, there is so much wisdom here to be shared from the more
experienced gardeners, and I don't have time to subscribe to a dozen
different lists, and I've really enjoyed the generally relaxed and friendly
atmosphere here in SqFt. Land!  I do like someone (was it Trudi?) who
described some of the other topics as a wheel, with the SqFt. idea as the
center hub, and the related ideas as the spokes...  Nice visual image there!
