Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
You raise an important issue. We could look at this
paraphrasing the religionists and ask "What would Mel do?". My thought is he
would react similarly, throwing out the "poison ivyists and little kitty
feetists" from the SQFT temple, while at the same time welcoming and nuturing
those that come questioning "who is Mel and what is SQFT?" and asking that we
continue to spread his message.
I concurr that we all can >benefit from others'
opinions of form, function, design, and experience.> as you so aptly
state.
My raised beds where I intensively practice vegetable SQFTing
do not stand alone in my gardening world. I also practice the SQFT
concept in how I plant, space and intermingle
my flowers, shrubs and trees.
And so I would suggest these would all be appropriate to
discuss in this venue.
The difficultly is when you have a few people who prattle on
and on about inane things that have only the most tenuous relationship to the
general intent of the SQFT list. Years ago we had a poster to the list
named "Old John" who would occasionally take the proverbial 2x4 to the head of
off topic posters. Some left, but others would become positive
contributors and in general the list tended to be self policing with Melissa
only occasionally having to step in. As they say "the more things change, the
more they remain the same.
Besides, gardening season looms before us and the number of OT
posts will greatly diminish -Yahoo!
