OK I went out to work in the garden and come back to the worm story
LOL. Our vet told me the same thing that Margaret learned. The wormer
isn't a problem after a couple of weeks.
My very favorite way to start new beds is to mark off the area and dump
about 3-6 inches of moderatly old horse manure on top. Come back 6
months later turn the bed. The awful clay soil we have is fluffy and
workable. I then add the other goodies and am all set to go. For raised
beds I just turn the manure in build the bed and fill as usual.
Most of my garden has been started in this way and I have lots and lots
of happy worms.
Gail
