Susie,
I forgot to say that I have been growing tomatoes for years, but every
year I try new things. I grow at least 4 to six varieties every year
and at least half of them I'm trying for the first time. My priorities
have changed with time. I now prefer open pollinated, indeterminate
varieties where I used to grow mostly determinate ones and didn't care
if they were hybrids or not. I've just started saving seeds and that
has changed some of my thinking.
What I do is ask, ask, ask! I asked about varieties here a few days ago
and I ask everyone I meet that grows tomatoes what they grow and why.
Every fall I make notes about what I will try the next year, that's half
the fun for me.
Have fun,
Gail
