Richard,
I've grown bush type zuchinni, which we all know sprawls, in tomato
cages--coaxing them upward. It worked perfectly. This year, I've
planted an Italian squash that looks like a trombone (the name
escapes me) and Navajo Winter Squash in four-foot high wire cylinders.
So far, they are behaving well and climbing the wire.
