Doreen, The trombone squash you're growing may well out grow even a tall tomatoe cage. I grew this variety several years ago and the vines grew up about six feet and out about 10 feet in both directions. You will be delighted with this plant. We're growing two right now. ---------- From: Doreen Howard[SMTP:doreen@TGN.NET] Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 1997 12:06 PM To: Multiple recipients of list SQFT Subject: Re: Trellising Zucchini? Richard, I've grown bush type zuchinni, which we all know sprawls, in tomato cages--coaxing them upward. It worked perfectly. This year, I've planted an Italian squash that looks like a trombone (the name escapes me) and Navajo Winter Squash in four-foot high wire cylinders. So far, they are behaving well and climbing the wire.
