I have a friend, a master gardener, who says heavy fruit can be hung in
onion bags, pantyhose and knee high nylons. The pantyhose are strong enough
to carry the weight of the fruit, expand as the fruit matures, and still
lets in enough light to ripen the fruit. I plan to experiment with them
this year.
