Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Thank you to everyone for the information.
I now know that I am zone 9. From some of the descriptions of my area it sounds
idyllic! I never realised what a wonderful gardening environment I lived in.
However, I couldn't dig on my allotment from early Oct to early Feb because it
was far too wet. I lost a lot of produce last summer because it was so dry and
just when I think spring has sprung and summer is on its way, we get a frost in
early June.
I have noticed that our winters are getting milder and the
summers hotter, whether this is just the normal cycles or in fact global warming
I don't know.
I love gardening and what ever the weather throws at me I
always manage to prevail. I am finally getting the allotment dug and this
weekend I shall get all those things planted that should have gone in months or
weeks ago. Please tell me it isn't too late to put my shallots in (should have
been planted in Dec/Jan)!!!
Thanks again for all the help
Louise King
PS. BTW there is talk that the traditional Cheese Rolling may
be stopped due to so many people breaking limbs, between you and me even if they
stop organising it people will still do it.
