Here is some info that I have been saving:

RE: 55 gallon drums for rain barrels

In northern Michigan, the barrels are very common. I
have
purchased them from feed and bait stores, garden centers,
hardware stores, and directly from the fruit processing
companies.
Would you have any of those near you? I really appreciated
the mere
$8.00 I paid for mine when I saw the new ones in a plastic
catalog
listed for well over $50.00

The local soda bottling company gets its coke syrup in
55
gallon plastic barrels, and gave several to me. Call your
local bottling company.

You may also want to look for one or two large plastic
garbage cans
on wheels...then you can just wheel your barrels to where
you need
to use the water.

Check this link for plastic septic tanks. 55 gals just
does't go
very far.

Try looking under "Barrels" or "Plastic Barrels" in
your
yellow pages in Dallas. I found a 75 gallon plastic gallon
at a
place that recycles them after they are no longer used
as detergent containers.
