Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Tea is in the camellia family and frost tender. It can be grown in
containers and sheltered during freezing weather. Nichols Garden Nursery
sells the plants. New growth leaves in the spring are harvested for tea.
They are used fresh to brew green tea, rolled and dried for black teas. The
rolling releases enzymes that ferment the tea leaves. Plants are easy to
grow--same culture as any camellia--, have small fragrant flowers and are
attractive patio and house plants. Coffee plants are also tender and must
be protected from freezing weather. There are several sources for coffee
plants, including Logee's Greenhouse. They are expensive, however, and a
search of the Internet will probably turn up more reasonable suppliers who
could give you more cultural info, too.
