We just had a pair of Mallard ducks stop by to have a snack under our bird feeder! I have heard that domestic ducks are good to have in the garden as they eat slugs and other pests. Does anyone know if wild ones are useful to have in the garden, too? I don't know whether to be pleased or not. Some parks in our area have had trouble with an over-population of ducks and geese, so I don't know whether to encourage them or not.
